Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the voltage yet, but is it possible that a slightly weak battery causes the engine to shut off?

Yes, that's exactly what was happening with mine. A faulty battery can cause the idle stop system to fail, leading to unexpected engine shutdowns. I'd suggest getting the battery properly tested and replaced if necessary. A workshop should be able to confirm.

Cheers for the help! Took it to a local garage and they confirmed the battery was toast. New battery fitted and all is well. Cost me 290€ Problem solved!

I had a similar problem with my Elysion. Is the car battery in good condition? The start-stop system relies heavily on it, and if it's weak, it can cause those symptoms. Have you checked the battery's voltage and overall health?
