Elysion Undervoltage Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Honda Elysion is experiencing undervoltage issues, leading to poor starts, system failures, and flickering lights. The initial suspicion is a heavily discharged or defective battery. However, it is suggested to also consider the voltage regulator or alternator as potential causes. After a workshop diagnosis, the problem is confirmed to be a heavily discharged battery, which is resolved by replacing it.

Thanks, that's helpful. Where is the voltage regulator located, and how can I test it to see if it is faulty? What were the first signs you noticed before the issues became more pronounced?

I'm not entirely sure about the exact location of the regulator on the 2007 model, but it's generally integrated into the alternator. Testing it requires specialized equipment; it's not something you can easily do with a multimeter. The initial signs were occasional flickering of the headlights at idle, followed by progressively longer cranking times. Given those symptoms, I would advise having a workshop perform a comprehensive electrical system diagnosis.

Appreciate the advice. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the battery being heavily discharged. New battery and health check sorted it all out, cost me 290€.

I had very similar issues with my Elysion. Weak starts, seemingly random electrical glitches. Have you checked the voltage regulator? An alternator issue can also cause undervoltage, even with a healthy battery.
