Emergency Call System Failure

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2022 Ford Transit electric. It has 87432 km on the clock. The emergency call system is malfunctioning. I receive an error message in the speedometer accompanied by a warning light, and the error is stored in the error memory. Considering the symptoms, I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered something similar?

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Transit, though mine's the older diesel version. Emergency call failure, right? Was driving me nuts. For me, it was also electrical. Have you checked the fuses related to the telematics unit? That's where I'd start. What's the specific error code?

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the fuses yet, that's a good point. I will do that first thing tomorrow. As for the error code, I'd have to check again, but I believe it indicated a communication error with the emergency call module. Could you tell me if the error code was similar in your case?

Yep, pretty much the same error. I spent ages trying to figure it out myself. I'd advise getting it checked by a workshop. They will find the fault quickly. In the end, it was a loose connector that they fixed.

Thank you for your help! It turned out to be a defective connector as you suggested. A visit to the workshop confirmed the diagnosis. The emergency call system is now functioning correctly. The final repair cost was 95€.
