Emergency Call System Malfunction

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2001 Lexus SC with a gasoline engine. The emergency call system seems to be malfunctioning. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, plus an error message and a warning light popping up in the speedometer. I've tried a basic system reset, but no luck. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds like a potential issue with the emergency call system's control module or its wiring. Have you had the diagnostic codes read to see what specific errors are being reported? That would help narrow down the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! No, I haven't had the diagnostic codes read yet. Where would be the best place to start with that, and is there a way to reset the control module?

I recommend taking it to a workshop to read out the error memory. Based on similar issues I've seen, it's often a cable or plug connection to the component that is defective. Resetting the control module yourself might not solve the underlying hardware problem.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop and they confirmed it was a faulty connection. Repair cost was about 95€. Appreciate the help!
