Endeavour AC failure

Alright gurus, need some help! My 2008 Ford Endeavour diesel's AC has completely given up the ghost. It just decided it doesn't want to cool anymore, and now it won't even switch on! I've checked the obvious stuff, like fuses, but no luck. Could it be the pressure switch? I'm at 215768 km now, could really use some AC. Help me out, it's getting HOT!

Summary of the thread

The 2008 Ford Endeavour diesel's AC has stopped functioning entirely, refusing to cool or switch on. The initial checks, such as fuses, have not resolved the issue, leading to speculation about a possible pressure switch problem. A suggestion was made to conduct AC diagnostics to check for system pressure or leaks, as these could prevent the compressor from activating. It was advised to consult a specialist to accurately diagnose and fix the issue, potentially involving a defective valve or other components.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Had a similar issue with my old Peugeot, though not the same make. The AC just stopped working, no signs of life. Have you had any AC diagnostics done to check the system pressure? Could be a leak, preventing the compressor from kicking in. That's what happened to mine.

Hmm, interesting. Diagnostics, you say? I haven't done that yet, to be honest. I was hoping it was something simple like a relay. When you say leak, where was yours leaking from? Was it an easy fix or something more involved?

Mine turned out to be a defective valve somewhere deep in the system. Needed a specialist to find it. Honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop that knows AC systems well. Could save you a lot of time and frustration. Better than guessing and throwing parts at it. They’ll check the pressure and see what's up. Cost me around 1000€ to get it sorted.

Thanks for the tip! Diagnostics it is, then. I was hoping to avoid the shop, but you're probably right. No point in making it worse. I will check if it's the valves. I'll post a resolution when I figure out what's going on. Cheers!
