Endeavour Diesel Stalling at Idle

My 2008 Ford Endeavour diesel (21641 km) is showing some odd behavior. The check engine light comes on, and the engine stalls at idle. Error memory reports an incorrect fuel composition. Could a defective cable or plug connection cause this?
