Endeavour Fuel Level Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
The issue involves a fuel level sensor problem in a 2003 Ford Endeavour diesel, causing the check engine light to activate and occasional stalling at idle. The problem might be linked to a faulty sensor or a wiring issue, such as a loose connection or corrosion in the wiring harness to the fuel tank. A suggested solution is to have a technician diagnose and address the issue, which may involve replacing the sensor and recalibrating the fuel gauge.

Thanks. Can you tell me where to look on the wiring harness for problems? I want to be careful with the electronics.

My mechanic checked the connector where the harness connects to the fuel tank. There was corrosion. Even though the Insignia is different, a bad connection there could cause it. But the fuel system is complex, so a workshop might be best. It's hard to diagnose remotely.

Thanks, I think a technician is the way to go. The error code pointed to the sensor, so they replaced it, recalibrated the fuel gauge, and ran diagnostics. Total was 52€ for parts and labor. Thanks for the help.

I had similar symptoms with my 2014 Opel Insignia. The dashboard flashed and it turned out to be a fuel system fault. Have you checked the wiring harness to the fuel tank? Could be a loose connection.
