Endeavour Intermittent Starting Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Ford Endeavour with a gasoline engine is experiencing intermittent starting issues, random shutdowns, and rough running at 224,517 km. The fuses have been checked and appear fine. A potential cause could be a faulty ignition switch, as suggested by a similar experience with another vehicle. Replacing the ignition switch might resolve the issue.

When you say 'faulty ignition switch,' what kind of fault was it? Complete failure, or intermittent? Any other weird electrical stuff happening?

It was intermittent. Sometimes it would start, sometimes it wouldn't. No other electrical issues that I recall. I ended up taking it to a workshop; they replaced the whole ignition switch unit.

Thanks, that's helpful. Sounds like I should get the ignition switch checked. A 52€ repair sounds reasonable.

I had a similar problem with my old Opel Corsa. The engine would cut out randomly. Have you tried jiggling the key in the ignition when it won't start? It could be a faulty ignition switch.
