Endeavour Intermittent Starting Issue

My 2007 Ford Endeavour with a gasoline engine is acting up at 224517 km. It sometimes won't start, randomly shuts off, and runs rough. I checked the fuses, but they seem fine.

I had a similar problem with my old Opel Corsa. The engine would cut out randomly. Have you tried jiggling the key in the ignition when it won't start? It could be a faulty ignition switch.

When you say 'faulty ignition switch,' what kind of fault was it? Complete failure, or intermittent? Any other weird electrical stuff happening?

It was intermittent. Sometimes it would start, sometimes it wouldn't. No other electrical issues that I recall. I ended up taking it to a workshop; they replaced the whole ignition switch unit.

Thanks, that's helpful. Sounds like I should get the ignition switch checked. A 52€ repair sounds reasonable.
