Endeavour NOx Catalyst Aging

I've got a 2010 Ford Endeavour with a gasoline engine and about 104,000 km on it. Lately, the check engine light keeps coming on, and it's showing an error related to the NOx storage catalyst aging. I also think I might be hearing a slight exhaust leak. Any ideas what could be going on?

Sounds like you might have a leak in your exhaust system somewhere, which is messing with the NOx catalyst's efficiency. I had a similar issue on my old car a few years back. Where do you think the leak might be coming from?

Thanks for the reply! I'm not really sure where the leak is exactly. Is there an easy way to check without taking everything apart?

Honestly, it's tough to pinpoint without a proper inspection. Given the NOx catalyst code and potential leak, it's best to get it checked at a workshop. Could save you money long term!

Okay, thanks for the advice. I took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on – there was a small crack in the exhaust manifold. Cost me around 265€ to get it welded up. Check engine light is gone now!
