Endeavour parking aid malfunction
Summary of the thread
The parking aid on a 2006 Ford Endeavour diesel was malfunctioning, with a diagnostic check indicating an error in the system's memory. The issue was suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug. A similar problem was resolved by checking the wiring around the rear bumper, particularly the radar sensor connectors, for loose or corroded connections. Ultimately, a workshop identified and fixed a faulty connector, resolving the issue.

When you say 'wiring around the rear bumper', do you mean the main harness or individual connectors at each sensor? Did your diagnostic tool point to a specific sensor, or just a general system fault?

My diagnostic tool showed a general system fault, not a specific sensor. I meant both the main harness and the individual connectors. Honestly, tracing it myself was a pain. I'd suggest having a workshop take a look. They can properly diagnose it and have the right tools to test the control module.

Appreciate the advice. Took it to a workshop as you suggested. Turns out it was a faulty connector, just like you suspected. Repair cost was 95€. All sorted now, thanks!

I had a similar issue with my Endeavour. The proximity sensors stopped working. Check the wiring around the rear bumper, especially the radar sensor connectors. A loose or corroded connection could be the problem.
