Endeavour transmission grinding noise
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Ford Endeavour with 171,723 km is experiencing transmission issues, including a check engine light, transmission light, rough shifting, and grinding noises. The problem is suspected to be related to the torque converter, particularly a defective lock-up clutch. A similar case confirmed the issue, and a repair was recommended, which resolved the problem.

Yeah, it seems to be worst around those speeds you mentioned. As for the grinding, it's mostly when it's shifting gears. Does that sound like the same torque converter issue you had?

Yep, almost exactly the same. Mine turned out to be a defective lock-up clutch inside the torque converter. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a good workshop, sounds like you might need a transmission repair.

Thanks for the info! I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on. It was indeed the torque converter. Repair ended up costing me 2120€, but at least it's fixed now!

Sounds familiar. I have an Endeavour too, and had similar symptoms a while back. Is it only happening when it tries to lock up the torque converter, usually around 80-100 km/h? Does the grinding happen when the transmission is shifting between gears, or all the time?
