Enjoy engine overheating air flap fault
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Chevrolet Enjoy is experiencing engine overheating and a persistent check engine light, with a diagnostic scan indicating an active air flap fault. The likely cause is a defective electromechanism within the air flap system, which plays a crucial role in the vehicle's cooling and air intake processes. The recommended solution is to replace the entire assembly, as a faulty electromechanism can lead to overheating issues. Seeking professional diagnostic and repair services is advised to resolve the problem effectively.

No misfiring, just the overheating and the check engine light. Which part did you exactly replace to fix this on your Enjoy? Was it just the flap motor, or the entire assembly?

Given your symptoms and the diagnostic code, it does sound like the electromechanism, as you initially suspected. In my case, the entire assembly was replaced. I suggest taking it to a trusted workshop for a complete diagnostic and repair. A defective electromechanism can definitely cause the overheating you're experiencing. It will cost you around 590€.

Thanks for the confirmation! I suspected as much. I appreciate the insight; I'll get it booked into the workshop for a proper look and repair.

I had a similar issue with my Chevrolet Enjoy. Is the engine struggling or misfiring at all? The active air flaps play a role in the cooling system and air intake, and if they're not functioning correctly, it can lead to overheating. It would be good to check all the basics of the cooling system before.
