Entourage cruise control malfunction
Summary of the thread
The cruise control on a 2007 Hyundai Entourage stopped working, and the 'cruise' light failed to illuminate. Initial checks showed that the fuses were intact. A suggestion was made to inspect the brake light switch and the clock spring in the steering wheel, as these could affect cruise control functionality. Ultimately, the issue was traced to a bad cable connection, which was resolved by a mechanic.

Thanks for the quick reply! The horn works. Is there a way to check the brake light switch without special tools? Are there any signs of a bad switch that I can see?

If your brake lights are working, that probably means the brake light switch isn't the only problem. You could test the switch with a multimeter, but since you've already done some troubleshooting, it might be best to have a mechanic inspect it. They can read error codes and have wiring diagrams.

Thanks for the advice! I went to my mechanic, and it was a bad cable connection. The error was also stored in memory. Total cost was 95€, including labor and the cable.

I drive an Entourage too, and had a similar problem. Have you checked the brake light switch? A faulty switch can prevent cruise control from engaging. Does your horn work? The clock spring in the steering wheel connects the cruise control buttons. Could be there…
