Entourage NOx Catalyst Aging Exhaust Smell
Summary of the thread
The 2007 Hyundai Entourage has a check engine light indicating NOx storage catalyst aging, accompanied by an exhaust smell. This issue could lead to reduced fuel efficiency and increased NOx emissions. A similar problem in another vehicle was caused by a small exhaust leak near the catalyst. The suggested solution is to have the exhaust system checked for leaks, which was confirmed as the issue and subsequently repaired.

Hmm, not really any noticeable performance drop. Just the smell and the idiot light. What was the culprit with your Volvo?

Turns out, it was a tiny leak in the exhaust system near the catalyst. Messed everything up. I'd get it checked at a workshop; these emissions systems are hyper-sensitive.

Ah, exhaust leak, gotcha. Took your advice and went to the shop. Leak in the exhaust system was indeed the issue. Cost me 265€ to repair. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with a 2012 Volvo V60. Check engine light, exhaust smell...
