Entourage Overheating Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Hyundai Entourage is experiencing engine overheating and a check engine light issue. The initial suspicion is a radiator fan problem, possibly caused by a defective speed sensor. The fan operates intermittently, suggesting a sensor issue. After a workshop diagnosis, the speed sensor was replaced, resolving the overheating and check engine light problems.

That's interesting about your Opel. The fan does seem to be working intermittently, but not consistently. Could that still point to a faulty sensor? And if so, is it a costly fix? I'm dreading the thought of a huge bill.

Intermittent fan points even more to a sensor issue. On my Astra, it was a pain. I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop ASAP. They can properly diagnose it. I paid around 250€ for the repair back then.

Thanks a bunch for the info! I'll definitely get it to a workshop. Turns out it was the speed sensor. They replaced it, and the temperature is normal again and the check engine light is gone!

Overheating and check engine light? Sounds familiar! I had a similar headache with my old Opel Astra. Turned out to be a dodgy sensor messing with the fan motor. Is the fan not kicking on at all, even when the engine's hot?
