Eon AC Compressor Failure
Summary of the thread
The A/C compressor in a 2015 Hyundai Eon is not engaging, resulting in a lack of cooling. A diagnostic tool indicates an error, possibly related to undervoltage. A similar issue was resolved by checking the pressure sensor and AC relay, common causes for such problems. It is recommended to consult a technician for accurate diagnosis and repair, as the issue was confirmed to be undervoltage, leading to a compressor failure.

Thanks for the quick reply. Can you tell me where the pressure sensor is in the engine and how you knew yours was bad? Were there any other signs besides no cooling?

No worries. Honestly, I'm no mechanic. When mine went kaput, I just took it to a workshop after fiddling with the relay based on some forum posts. Turns out, it was a pressure switch issue throwing off the whole system. Best bet is to get it checked out by someone who knows their stuff before you start replacing random bits and bobs. Could save you some headaches.

I appreciate the advice. I’ll take it to a technician for a diagnosis. I’ll post what the problem is for others. It was undervoltage, which caused the A/C compressor to fail. The repair cost 240€.

Hey, I had something similar happen in my Eon. The AC just quit. No cold air, nada. Felt like sitting in a pizza oven on wheels. Have you checked the pressure sensor? It’s a pretty common culprit. Think of it like the safety switch on your iron – if it doesn't sense enough pressure, it won't let the compressor kick on. Could also be a dodgy AC relay. Give those a look-see before you start tearing things apart.
