Eon AC not cooling

Hi, I'm having a problem with the AC in my 2011 Hyundai Eon with a gasoline engine. It's got about 69000 km on the clock. Recently, the air conditioning stopped cooling altogether. When I turn it on, nothing happens – no cold air, no change in engine noise, basically no sign that the system is even trying to kick in. I've checked the obvious things like fuses, but I'm not really sure where to go from here. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

The air conditioning in a 2011 Hyundai Eon has stopped cooling, with no signs of the system engaging. Possible causes include a faulty pressure switch or defective valves in the air conditioning system. It is advised to have the system pressure checked by a professional, as diagnosing and repairing such issues without proper tools can be challenging and potentially hazardous.

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Eon recently. The AC just quit. Have you had the system pressure checked? It could be a faulty pressure switch preventing the compressor from engaging. Also, have you noticed any strange noises or smells before it stopped working?

Thanks for the quick response! No strange noises or smells that I can recall. I haven't had the system pressure checked, I don't have the tools to do that myself. Is that something I can easily test at home, or is it best left to a professional? Where exactly is the pressure switch located?

Honestly, without the right equipment, checking the pressure yourself can be tricky and potentially dangerous. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to get it diagnosed properly. In my case, it turned out to be a defect in individual valves in the air conditioning system, which cost me around 1000€ to repair. Could be similar in your case. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the advice! I'll take it to a trusted mechanic and get the pressure and valves checked. Hopefully, it won't cost me quite as much as yours did, but at least I have an idea of what to expect. Appreciate the help!
