Eon Brake Light Switch Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Hyundai Eon experienced a brake light failure and an error message, suspected to be due to a faulty brake light switch. The issue was potentially caused by resting a foot on the brake pedal, leading to constant micro-adjustments that damaged the switch. The dealership confirmed the fault and replaced the switch under warranty.

User error, huh? Interesting theory. Any specifics on what part of the pedal interaction might cause that?

Well, in my case, it turned out I was resting my foot on the brake pedal a little too much while driving. Over time, that messed with the brake light switch. The constant micro-adjustments created a fault. If you've done that, I would go to a workshop and ask them to check if the switch is broken.

Turns out you were spot on! Dealership confirmed the brake light switch was faulty due to resting my foot on the pedal. Replaced under warranty, 0€ . Thanks!

Hey there! I drive an Eon too, and I had something similar happen a while back. The brake lights were acting up erratically, and the system was throwing codes left and right. Were you messing with the pedals recently?
