Summary of the thread
A 2013 Hyundai Eon with 73,494 km is experiencing engine overheating and a check engine light. Diagnostics suggest a potential issue with the radiator fan, possibly due to a faulty speed sensor. It is recommended to have a professional workshop inspect and potentially replace the speed sensor to resolve the overheating problem.

Thanks. I checked the fan blade, and it looks fine. But I don't know how to test the thermal switch. How did you test yours, or what did you notice about how it was working?

Based on what you're saying and what I went through, it might be more than you can fix at home. I'd get it checked by a good workshop. My speed sensor was the problem, and replacing it fixed everything.

Thanks, I'll book an appointment with a workshop for a full check. I'll tell them to look at the speed sensor and how it affects the fan. Looks like it will cost around 250€. Thanks for the help.

I had a similar problem with my Eon. Overheating and the check engine light are serious. Did you check the fan blade for damage or anything blocking it? Also, is the thermal switch working? It controls the fan based on temperature.
