Epica Cold Start Problems

I'm having difficulty starting my 2008 Chevrolet Epica with a gasoline engine, especially in cold weather. Once started, it idles rough and misfires until warm. I've checked fuel pressure, which seems fine, but I suspect a faulty cold start injector. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be the injector, and how can I test or clean it?

Summary of the thread

A 2008 Chevrolet Epica is experiencing difficulty starting in cold weather, with rough idling and misfires until the engine warms up. The issue is suspected to be related to a faulty cold start injector, as fuel pressure appears normal. A similar case confirmed the problem was a faulty injector, diagnosed through diagnostic codes by a mechanic. The recommended solution is to have a professional workshop diagnose and replace the injector.

I had a similar problem with my Epica, though I didn't check the fuel pressure. The rough idle and poor starting were driving me nuts! I initially suspected a vacuum leak, but after checking all the hoses, that wasn't it. Does the problem clear up once the engine warms up? If so, it definitely sounds like something related to the cold start system.

Yes, the issue does improve as the engine warms up gradually over a few minutes. This makes me think it's the cold start injector. Did you do any specific tests or replacements to fix it? Were injector tests helpful?

That's exactly what mine was doing. I didn't do any injector tests myself. I took it to my mechanic, and they confirmed it was a faulty injector. They ran some diagnostic codes and pinpointed it quickly. Given your symptoms and checks, it sounds like the same issue. I'd suggest a trusted workshop for diagnosis and replacement.

Thanks for the help! Your experience confirms my suspicions. I'll take it to a mechanic instead of trying to fix it myself. The estimated repair cost is about 515€.
