Epica MAF Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Chevrolet Epica owner is experiencing issues such as higher fuel consumption, engine stalling at idle, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration, suspecting a defective mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Another individual with similar symptoms confirms that their problem was indeed the MAF sensor, which required replacement after cleaning attempts failed. The original issue was resolved by replacing the MAF sensor, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Yes, absolutely a decline in performance. Did you ever figure out what the problem was? Was it the MAF sensor?

Yep, for me it was the MAF sensor. I tried cleaning it first, but no luck. Eventually, I had to replace it. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop to be sure.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right – it was the MAF sensor. The whole repair cost me 365€. Runs like new now!

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms with my Epica. Check engine light, rough idle, and definitely noticed the fuel consumption creeping up. Have you noticed any decline in performance?
