Epica preheating lamp and check engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Chevrolet Epica with a diesel engine is experiencing issues with the preheating lamp not switching off, the check engine light being on, and smoke during acceleration. These symptoms suggest a potential problem with the preheating control unit. Possible causes include a defective control unit or faulty cable or plug connections. Checking the fuses is recommended as a preliminary step, but professional inspection at a workshop is advised for accurate diagnosis and repair.

Thanks for the hint. Which fuse exactly should I check? Any idea where it is located?

Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact number, but it's located in the fuse box under the hood. Check the diagram on the fuse box cover; it should be indicated there. However, in my case, it wasn't the fuse. I went to the workshop, and they identified the defective preheating control unit. The repair cost was around 95€.

I had a similar issue with my Epica. Those symptoms do sound like a preheating control unit problem. Have you checked the fuses? Sometimes, a blown fuse can cause similar issues, like a short circuit in your house. It's a cheaper thing to check before diving into the unit itself.
