Epica Reset Quantity Drift Compensation Error

I'm having a problem with my 2006 Chevrolet Epica diesel, which has 217811 km on it. I'm getting a 'reset quantity drift compensation' error. The engine runs rough, and the check engine light is on. There's an error code stored. Could this be a bad injector or airflow sensor?

Summary of the thread

A 2006 Chevrolet Epica diesel with 217811 km is experiencing a 'reset quantity drift compensation' error, causing rough engine performance and triggering the check engine light. The issue likely stems from inconsistent fuel delivery, possibly due to a faulty injector or airflow sensor. It is advised to check the fuel filter, fuel pressure, and use an OBD-II scanner to retrieve specific error codes. Ultimately, a defective injector was identified and replaced at a workshop, resolving the problem.

Rough running, check engine light, and a stored error point to a fuel injection issue. The 'reset quantity drift compensation' error suggests the ECU is struggling to maintain fuel delivery because the injectors aren't performing consistently. Before replacing anything, have you checked the fuel filter and fuel pressure? Also, get the exact error code; that will give you more specific information.

Thanks. I haven't checked the fuel filter or fuel pressure, but I will. Is there a specific procedure or tool you recommend for getting the error code beyond a standard OBD-II scanner? I'm interested in any onboard diagnostics procedures that may be relevant to compensation adjustment.

A standard OBD-II scanner should work. Focus on codes related to fuel injection, misfires, or air-fuel mixture problems. Some advanced tools offer injector testing, but I don't recommend attempting compensation adjustments without professional equipment and expertise. Given the mileage and symptoms, a bad injector or wiring is likely. A thorough diagnosis at a workshop is the best idea.

Thanks for the advice. I'm taking it to a workshop for diagnosis and repair. They confirmed the injector was defective, and it cost 515€ to replace. Thanks again for your help.
