Epica steering vibration
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Chevrolet Epica with 113,000 km is experiencing steering wheel vibration, spongy handling, and difficulty turning, accompanied by an error code. The suspected cause is a faulty cable or plug in the power steering system. After taking the car to a workshop, the issue was identified as a corroded connector on the power steering pump, which was replaced, resolving the problem.

Fluid level's fine. It's more consistent than intermittent, getting worse over time. You're saying you had similar symptoms even before you checked the fluid? What exactly did you experience?

Okay, since fluid is fine... Yeah, mine started similar, heavy steering, then the shuddering. Honestly, after messing around a bit, I just took it to a workshop. Best bet, really. Could be a number of things. Don't want to risk messing up the steering column.

Cheers. Took it to the shop as you suggested. Turned out to be a corroded connector on the power steering pump, just like I thought. New connector fitted and error memory cleared, 95€ all in. All good now, thanks for the advice.

Epica owner here too (though not a diesel). Sounds familiar! Was it doing it all the time, or just intermittently? Did you check the hydraulic fluid level? That can cause some weird issues with the steering system.
