User error you say I'm pretty meticulous about my driving habits but I'll admit on long trips my foot might hover near the brake pedal Could that really be the culprit And to answer your question the error is persistent now but it started as intermittent a few weeks back What are the chances it's something more than just the brake switch

Okay the persistent error even after starting as intermittent strongly suggests the brake switch is the most likely cause Foot hovering even without applying pressure can indeed cause premature wear Given the symptoms and error code it's almost certainly the brake switch I'd still recommend a visit to a workshop just to be absolutely certain but I’m pretty confident a switch replacement will sort it You're probably looking at a straightforward fix

Took your advice and decided to investigate my driving habits Turns out I was indeed guilty of resting my foot near the brake pedal Adjusted my seating position and consciously corrected the habit Cleared the error codes and the brake lights are working perfectly again No switch replacement needed Apparently the error was triggered by minimal constant activation of the brake switch Thanks for pointing out the obvious Repair cost: 0€

Intermittent brake light failure on an EQC with a brake switch error Hmm While a faulty brake switch is the prime suspect have you considered user error Do you rest your foot on the brake pedal while driving It's a common habit that can prematurely wear out the brake switch Let's rule out the obvious before diving into more complex electrical issues Is the error consistently present or does it come and go
