EQC Electric Lighting Fault

My Mercedes EQC, build year 2022 with an electric engine, currently at 149885 km, exhibits a lighting fault. The lights switch on independently, and an error is stored in the memory. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Is this a known issue with the light switch?

I had a similar problem with my old Vauxhall Corsa. The tail lights would randomly come on. Turned out to be the dimmer switch. I know it's a different car, but did you check the headlight switch and its wiring? Sometimes a faulty ground can cause weird issues.

When you mention dimmer switch, are you referring to the dashboard illumination control? Was the error persistent, or did it occur intermittently?

Yes, I mean the dashboard illumination control. The error was intermittent at first, then became more frequent. I eventually took it to a workshop. They diagnosed a short in the light switch itself. Best bet is probably a visit to a shop.
