EQC Outside Temperature Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Mercedes EQC electric vehicle is experiencing issues with the outside temperature sensor, leading to an error code, non-functional AC, frozen spray nozzles, and inoperative mirror heating. The initial suspicion is a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor. However, it is suggested that the sensor itself might be faulty, as erratic readings were observed even after checking the wiring. The recommended solution is to have a technician perform a full sensor diagnostic and replace the sensor if necessary.

Can you explain the specific diagnostic procedures you used to determine the sensor was the problem, instead of just the cable or plug?

The sensor readings were erratic and inconsistent, even after checking the wiring. Replacing the temperature sensor is usually quicker and more reliable. I suggest taking it to a workshop for proper sensor diagnostics, calibration and replacement.

Understood. Thanks for confirming the sensor could be the problem, not just the wiring. I'll get a technician to do a full sensor check and replace it if needed.

Yes, I've seen this on an EQC. Often the sensor itself fails, not just the wiring, like a broken thermometer. Have you checked the sensor's output using diagnostic software?
