No grinding noises, thankfully It just sort of stopped One minute it was working fine, the next, nothing Did you end up replacing the motor yourself, or did you take it to a workshop Was it a massive job I'm reasonably handy, but electrics make me nervous Also, do you remember roughly how much the repair cost you back then I'm trying to gauge if the 330€ they quoted me is reasonable

Nah, I didn't tackle it myself Electrics aren't my strong suit either, and I didn't want to mess anything up I took it to an independent workshop From what I remember, it wasn't a particularly complicated job for them, but they did say accessing the motor was a bit fiddly My repair was a bit more expensive, but it was some years ago now and BMW parts tend to be pricey anyway If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, I'd say get it done professionally Especially with it being an electric car, better safe than sorry

Thanks for the advice I think you're right, I'll book it in It's probably not worth the risk of me making things worse 330€ is annoying, but at least I'll have a working sun blind again I appreciate you sharing your experience

That sucks I had a similar problem with the rear sun blind on my old BMW 5 series It also got stuck and threw an error It was definitely the motor In my case, the car blind actually made some horrible grinding noises before it finally gave up Did you hear any strange sounds before yours stopped working
