Equinox diesel engine power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Chevrolet Equinox diesel is experiencing power loss and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. The issue is suspected to be a sensor failure, specifically the manifold pressure sensor, possibly due to a vacuum leak. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired by a professional mechanic, which successfully resolved the problem.

Sluggish is the perfect word! So, if it's the manifold pressure sensor, is it something I can fix myself, or am I looking at a mechanic visit?

Given the symptoms and the potential vacuum leak involved, it's best to take it to a workshop. They can diagnose the problem properly. It does sound like the manifold pressure sensor, but diagnostics is better left to trained experts, don't you think?

Thank you so much for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – faulty manifold pressure sensor. 235€ later, it's running like new again!

Hey! Those are definitely symptoms of a manifold pressure sensor issue, especially with that mileage (151954 km). A large vacuum leakage may be the cause. Does it feel sluggish on acceleration?
