Equinox Engine Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Chevy Equinox is experiencing engine overheating and slow warming, with 110,000 km on the odometer. The initial suspicion is a faulty thermostat, possibly the map thermostat, as these symptoms are common for such an issue. No visible coolant leaks or loss were noted, suggesting the thermostat as the likely cause. A visit to a mechanic is recommended for a definitive diagnosis and repair.

No visible leaks, and coolant level seems fine. But you're thinking thermostat too, huh? Map thermostat specifically? How did you diagnose it for sure?

Yeah, thermostat. Most likely the map thermostat as I've been told it's a common issue. Honestly, I took it straight to the shop once I realized it wasn't something simple. Saved myself a headache. Good luck!

Appreciate the input! Sounds like a trip to the mechanic is in order. I'll report back what they find, but I'm betting on that thermostat. Thanks again!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Equinox. Was your thermostat housing leaking at all, or did you notice any coolant loss? Could be your water pump too, but those symptoms point toward the thermostat.
