Equus Fuel Pressure Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Hyundai Equus is experiencing issues such as the check engine light being on, stalling at idle, and reduced power, with a diagnostic scan indicating a faulty fuel rail pressure sensor signal. The problem could be due to a faulty sensor, but it is also suggested to check the wiring and connectors for loose connections or corrosion. Ultimately, the solution involved replacing the fuel pressure sensor, which resolved the issues.

Good point. I haven't checked the wiring yet. Where exactly is the fuel rail pressure sensor located on this engine? Is it easy to get to?

On my Volvo, it was on the fuel rail itself, reasonably accessible. However, considering the symptoms and the error code, I still advise seeking assistance from a qualified mechanic. The pressure sensor may well be the problem and you risk damaging the engine.

Thanks, I appreciate the input. I ended up taking it to the shop. You were right, it was the fuel pressure sensor. Replaced it and everything's back to normal. Cost me 240€, all in.

I had similar issues with my old Volvo S60, although the engine was different. Faulty fuel pressure sensors can cause all sorts of problems. Have you checked the wiring and connector to the sensor? Sometimes it's just a loose connection or corroded pin.
