Equus Intermittent Lighting

Experiencing an electrical fault with my 2015 Hyundai Equus, gasoline engine, at 39626 km. The lights switch on intermittently and an error is stored. I suspect a faulty light switch. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue?

Summary of the thread

The 2015 Hyundai Equus experienced an intermittent lighting issue affecting all lights, with an error stored, leading to the suspicion of a faulty light switch. The problem was confirmed to be a defective connection at the light switch. The suggested solution was to have a workshop inspect and repair the issue, which resolved the problem.

Intermittent lighting issues can be tricky. When you say the lights switch on, are we talking headlights, dashboard lights, or tail lights? Is there any pattern to when they come on – like bumps in the road or when using other electrical components? It might also be worth checking the fuses related to the lighting system; a loose or corroded fuse can sometimes cause similar symptoms.

It affects all the lights, including headlights, dashboard lights and tail lights. There doesn't seem to be a consistent pattern related to road conditions or other electrical components being used. I've inspected the fuses, and they appear to be in good condition. Is there anything else that I should check?

Given that all the lights are affected and the fuses are fine, it does sound like the issue is likely with the switch itself or the wiring leading to it. The 'cable or plug connection of the component defective' you mentioned is a likely cause. Without more advanced tools for electrical testing, it's probably best to have a workshop take a look. Continuing to drive it could lead to further electrical problems.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions and the advice. I took it to a local workshop and they found a defective connection at the light switch. The repair cost was 95€. Everything is working as expected now.
