Summary of the thread
A 2001 Hyundai Equus displayed a malfunction indicator lamp, with fault codes appearing on the speedometer and infotainment system. The issue was suspected to be related to a control module coding problem. After consulting with a local shop, it was confirmed that the vehicle's coding was incorrect, and recoding resolved the error messages.

No recent modifications or repairs. It just started. When you say 'check the vehicle's configuration', what do you mean? Can I do that with my diagnostic scanner, or is a specific tool needed?

Since it appeared spontaneously and you've tried resetting the codes, it points to potential coding corruption. Some advanced diagnostic scanners offer coding functionalities, but control varies. I'd recommend taking your Hyundai Equus to a trusted workshop for diagnosis and recoding if necessary.

Took it to a local shop, and you were right – the vehicle's coding was incorrect. They recoded it, and the error messages are gone. Final repair cost was 360€.

Have you tried resetting the codes? If the diagnostic scanner indicates a coding problem, check the vehicle's configuration. Incorrect coding can cause such malfunctions. Did this start after modifications or repairs?
