Equus System Readiness Error
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Hyundai Equus owner experienced a system readiness error after using an OBD2 scanner to clear a historical code. The issue likely stemmed from the car's computer needing to re-learn its settings after the reset. Initially considering a workshop visit, the owner resolved the problem by driving the car normally for a few days, allowing the system readiness check to complete on its own without further intervention.

Exactly! I was trying to read some live data and cleared a historical code (nothing major) to see if it would come back. That was probably my mistake. Is there a specific drive cycle or something I need to perform? The car runs perfectly fine otherwise.

Yes, in my case with the Volvo S90, it turned out that the system readiness check needed to run again, after a computer reset. I tried different drive cycles suggested online, but none worked for me. I am afraid that you will have to take your Hyundai Equus to a workshop, so that they can run a specific diagnostic cycle to reset the system readiness.

That's what I thought. I cleared the error memory and drove the car as usual for a few days. The system readiness check completed on its own. No more error message, and the system is reporting ready. Cost me 0€, as I didn't have to take it to the workshop. False alarm!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my 2018 Volvo S90. The emissions readiness monitors wouldn't set after I cleared some codes, even though there were no apparent problems. It's like the car's computer needed to re-learn everything. Did you recently clear any codes or perform any other diagnostic procedures with the OBD2 scanner?
