EQV Airbag Warning Light Issue

Airbag light is on in my 2020 Mercedes EQV electric engine What could be wrong

I'm having an issue with my 2020 Mercedes EQV electric. The airbag warning lamp in the speedometer is constantly lit. I've only driven 40064 km. Has anyone else seen this? I'm guessing it's some kind of faulty connection. I read something about a defective cable or plug connection, possibly an airbag sensor. Does this sound like SRS light stuff? I am worried about safety, especially with the airbag system failed. Any thoughts before I take it in for repair?

Sounds familiar I had something similar happen with my EQV. The SRS light came on and stayed on. For me the airbag sensor was the culprit. I remember reading up on it and apparently, the connectors are a bit sensitive on these models, and any slight jolt can cause a temporary disconnect. Have you tried checking the connections under the seats? It's worth a shot before you start throwing money at it. Do you have a code reader you can plug in?

Interesting you mention the connectors under the seats. I haven't checked those yet, but that's a great idea. When yours went, did the light come on intermittently first, or was it just a constant on? And do you remember which airbag sensor it was or do you know if it's possible to find out with a code reader? Thanks for the advice I appreciate the tips.

Mine was pretty constant. It flickered a couple of times, but then just stayed on solid. I did not try to check the error code myself, I directly brought it to the workshop. I remember them saying something about a specific code pointing to one of the side airbag sensors. Honestly, unless you're comfortable messing with the SRS system, I'd suggest taking it to a trusted mechanic. Repair can be tricky, and you don't want to accidentally deploy one. Definitely tell them to check the connectors first though, might save you some money! Thanks so much for the info! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – it was a loose connector on one of the side airbag sensors. They charged me 95€ to fix the cable or plug connection. Easy repair and a relief it wasn't anything major. At least now the SRS light is off, and I feel much better.
