Error message and malfunctions with navigation system and audio system in Opel Signum 2006
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Opel Signum owner is experiencing issues with the navigation and audio system, specifically an error message stating "Navigation system image data invalid." A similar problem was encountered by another Opel owner, who discovered it was due to a faulty wiring harness connecting the audio and navigation systems. The suggested solution is to have the car checked for cable damage, as repairing the wiring harness resolved the issue for the other owner.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. It sounds like I might actually have a similar problem. Can you remember how much it cost you to repair the wiring harness? And have there been any other problems since then as a result? Best regards!

Hey, yes, of course I still remember. It cost me €155 to repair the wiring harness. And after the mechanic had a look over it, the navigation system worked perfectly again and the "navigation system image data invalid" error was solved. Since then, there have been no further problems. All in all, the visit to the workshop was worthwhile. Best regards!

Hi there, that sounds very promising and the price also seems to be okay. Thanks for the information and the detailed experience. If it really is the cable, then it's off to my mechanic. With your experience, I'm a bit more optimistic about the visit. You really helped, thanks again! Bye!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my 2009 Opel Vectra. The system constantly displayed "cable connection faulty". It turned out to be a problem with the wiring harness that connects the audio system and the navigation system. I can tell you, it really wasn't fun. The people at the garage said that this is also a known issue. But don't worry, it was nothing serious, just a bit annoying because the car was in the workshop for a few days. So, best to get your car checked for cable damage. Hopefully it's not that bad for you. Good luck!
