ES Hybrid Software Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Lexus ES hybrid is experiencing software issues, including a general electrical malfunction and a non-functional navigation system at 82,000 km. Diagnostics suggest a problem with the control unit programming. A similar issue was resolved by performing a software reflash, indicating that visiting a service center for a diagnostic and potential reprogramming is a recommended solution.

It was abrupt. One morning, the issues were just there. Did you have any error codes or symptoms that match what I'm seeing?

Okay, abrupt is definitely what happened to me too. I didn't get any specific error codes myself, but I remember the nav system just died and the dashboard lights were all over the place. I ended up taking it to a workshop, and they told me something about a software reflash being needed. It sounds like you might have to do the same.

Thanks. Sounds like a service center is the way to go. Diagnostic estimate is 240€ to fix the control unit's programming. Appreciate you confirming the likely cause and pushing me to get it sorted.

Wow, that sounds frustrating! I have an ES hybrid too. I had something vaguely similar happen last year. The whole system was acting wonky. Was it by any chance a sudden thing? Or did it gradually get worse?
