ES Parking Assist Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Lexus ES owner experienced a complete failure of the parking assist system and retrieved an error code but was unsure how to proceed. After checking the sensors for damage, it was suggested that the issue might be due to a bad connection, possibly corroded plugs or cables. The owner was advised to inspect these connections or consult a mechanic with the error code for a quicker resolution. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a bad cable connection, which was resolved at a repair shop.

Thanks! Any tips on finding those connections and what to look for? I don't want to start tearing things apart without a clue.

Usually, they're right by the sensors, behind the bumper. But it's a Lexus, so who knows. If you're not comfy with electrical stuff, and you already have the error code, a mechanic might be the way to go. The code will speed things up for them. Could save you a headache. I messed something like this up once trying to DIY!

Good call. Took it to a shop. Turns out it was a bad cable connection, just like you said. Cost me 95€, which isn't bad. Thanks for the help!

I had something similar on a different car once. That error code is key. Usually, it's just a bad connection somewhere. Have you checked the plugs and cables going to the sensors? They get corroded sometimes.
