Escape Hybrid Transport Mode Electrical Fault

I've got a weird problem with my 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid. It says it's in 'Transport Mode,' and I'm getting a general electrical malfunction. The navigation isn't working either. It's new to me, only 45311 km on the odometer. I've tried restarting and checked the key fob, but nothing changes. Could it be a car configuration problem?

I had a similar problem with my 2018 BMW X3 after picking it up from the dealership. It also showed a transport mode message. Does the engine start at all?

No, the engine doesn't start. Did you have complete electrical failure and navigation issues too?

Yes, exactly the same symptoms. Transport mode often disables certain functions. I couldn't do anything myself and had to take it to the workshop for a proper reset. They had to reconfigure the car's computer, it seems.
