Escape oil temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Ford Escape is experiencing issues with the oil pressure warning lamp and a warning light on the speedometer, linked to an engine oil temperature sensor error. Initial attempts to fix the problem by adjusting the wires and plug were unsuccessful. The issue was ultimately traced to a defective sensor connection, which was resolved at a workshop.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I'm at 179486 km. The harness looks okay, no obvious frays or breaks. How did you resolve your issue? Was it definitely the sensor, or something else entirely?

Yeah, mine was the sensor connection that gave up eventually. If you have checked it thoroughly, I'd say either get a replacement sensor or go to a workshop to get it checked properly.

Thanks. Turns out you were right, it was the sensor connection that was defective! Ended up costing me 95€ at the workshop, but at least it's fixed!

I had a similar issue with my Escape. What mileage are you at? It might be the sensor itself, but usually a bad connection throws it off. Did you check the harness for any obvious damage?
