Escape Power Windows Failure
Summary of the thread
After replacing the car battery in a 2019 Ford Escape, the power windows stopped working, and an error message appeared. This issue may be due to the need for re-initializing the window regulators, as the car's computer must relearn the window positions. Attempts to reset the windows manually might not be effective, and professional diagnostic tools at a workshop are recommended to resolve the problem.

Thanks for your reply! No, I didn't try any reset procedures. I wasn't even aware that was a thing. Is there a way to do this myself, or does it require special equipment?

Unfortunately, the window initialization on the Escape can be tricky. I tried various methods myself and eventually had to take it to a workshop. They have the diagnostic tools to properly reset the window regulators. Save yourself the headache and consider doing the same.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I suspected it might be beyond my capabilities. I'll book an appointment with a workshop. They charged me 290€ and told me that the error was due to unsuccessful window regulator initialization!

I had a similar problem with my Escape after some electrical work. It sounds like your window regulators need to be re-initialized. Basically, the car's computer needs to relearn the window positions. Did you try any reset procedures?
