Escape System Readiness Error
Summary of the thread
A 'System Readiness Check Incomplete' error appeared on a 2020 Ford Escape after using an OBD2 diagnostic tool. The vehicle was running normally, suggesting the error might be related to the readiness flags not resetting properly after code clearing. A local mechanic confirmed it was an artifact of the OBD2 read, and after performing the correct drive cycle, the system reset itself, resolving the issue without any repair costs.

The engine seems to be performing normally. What exactly did you experience with your car, and how did you resolve it? I'm concerned about failing the upcoming vehicle inspection.

Okay, good that it runs fine. In my case, the readiness flags hadn't fully reset after clearing codes. This can happen sometimes, especially after using a generic OBD2 reader. I'd say, get it checked out at the workshop but do not panic first.

Thanks for the suggestion. I visited a local mechanic. As suspected, it was just an artifact of the OBD2 read. After performing the correct drive cycle, the system reset itself and the error disappeared. No repair costs incurred! I appreciate you sharing your experience.

Yeah, I had something similar happen with my Escape. Does it seem to be running fine otherwise? I initially freaked out, thinking it was an exhaust issue or something worse.
