Escape Tailgate Hall Sensor Error

I have an Escape too, and experienced something similar with my automatic tailgate. The error memory stored the same fault. It could very well be the cable or the plug connection. Have you inspected the harness that runs to the tailgate? They are known to develop breaks.

The most common location for breaks in the harness is where it flexes near the hinge of the tailgate. Given the error code and your description, a visit to a workshop might be the most efficient approach to diagnose and repair the wiring.

Yep, you were right. Took it to a shop, and it was a broken wire in the harness. 95€ later, all fixed. Thanks!
