Good point. What exactly did you observe when your tensioner was failing? Was it consistent, or only under certain conditions?

Initially, it was intermittent, mostly noticeable during cold starts with a squealing noise. Eventually, the belt started slipping more consistently, impacting engine performance. I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop; a defective tensioner can cause significant damage.

Thanks! Confirmed defective belt tensioner; repair cost 455€. Much appreciated!

I had a similar issue on my Eseries. Is your serpentine belt properly tensioned? Check the tensioner pulley; if it's weak, the belt might not engage correctly during handover. Listen for unusual engine noise too; it could indicate a failing tensioner.
