Eseries engine stalls at idle
Summary of the thread
The 2005 Ford Eseries engine stalls at idle, with a check engine light and reduced power, possibly due to a defective fuel pressure regulator. The issue arose after a fuel filter change, suggesting a connection. A similar experience led to replacing the fuel pressure regulator, resolving the problem and restoring engine performance.

I haven't measured the pressure drop precisely, but it's noticeable when the engine is under load. I don't have the specific misfire codes at hand right now, but the check engine light points towards fuel trim issues. Did you end up replacing the fuel regulator in your case?

Yeah, after checking everything, I had to replace the fuel regulator. It was causing all sorts of havoc with the fuel system. If you're seeing a pressure drop and fuel trim issues, that's probably it. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to confirm, but that was my experience.

I took it to the workshop, and you were right – it was indeed the fuel pressure regulator. Repair cost was about 45€. Replaced it, and everything is running smoothly again.

I had a similar issue with my Eseries. What kind of pressure drop are you seeing? And are you getting any specific misfire codes? Could be a faulty regulator, or even something further down the fuel system line.
