Eseries Overheating Issue

Hey, I'm having serious trouble with my 2002 Ford Eseries van, gasoline engine. It's got 217731 km on it. The engine keeps overheating, and the check engine light is on. I'm pretty sure it's the radiator fan because I don't hear it kicking on like it should. I checked the coolant level, and it's fine. What could be the problem? It's driving me nuts!

Dude, that sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Eseries a while back. Overheating and the check engine light... Did you check the speed sensor? Sometimes a faulty speed sensor can mess with the fan operation.

Speed sensor, huh? Where exactly is that located, and how would that cause the radiator fan to fail? I thought the fan was controlled by a thermal switch or something.

Yeah, it's weird, I know. I'm no mechanic, but apparently, on some models, the computer uses the speed sensor to decide when the fan needs to kick in. I'm not exactly sure where it is, but it's best to have a workshop check it. They will easily tell you if it is the root cause.

Thanks! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on! It was the speed sensor. They replaced it, and the radiator fan is working perfectly now. Cost me about 250€, but at least it's fixed. Really appreciate the help!
