Thanks for the quick reply! I've wiggled the plug, but how do I really check the cable? Is there a way to properly test it without just blindly poking around?

Honestly, beyond a visual inspection for obvious damage, it's tough to test the cable without proper tools. Given the symptoms and error code, and since you've already tried the plug, it might be best to get it checked out professionally. I ended up taking mine to a workshop.

Okay, that confirms my suspicions. I appreciate the advice! I'll book it in for a check-up. The cable was indeed faulty, as you suspected. New cable and fitting, 95€ all in. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds familiar. I've got an Eseries too, and I had similar symptoms last year. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the rear ventilation flap motor itself? That was the culprit in my case.
