Eseries rear window heating malfunction
Summary of the thread
The rear window heating malfunction in a 2007 Ford Eseries van was initially suspected to be caused by a heavily discharged or defective battery. However, further investigation suggested that the climate control module might also be at fault. A workshop visit confirmed the issue, and after replacing a faulty component within the climate control module, both the rear window and windshield heating were restored to proper function.

Thank you for the prompt response. I will test the battery voltage. Regarding the defroster grid, is there a specific method you recommend for identifying breaks that might not be immediately apparent?

Considering the stored error codes and compromised windshield heating alongside the rear window issue, a comprehensive diagnostic check is advisable. The battery's contribution seems probable, yet the climate control module might need assessment too. I recommend consulting a workshop.

Understood. I appreciate your insights. A workshop visit confirmed the issue and after replacing a faulty component within the climate control module, the rear window heating and windshield heating are now functioning correctly. Total repair cost was 290€.

A heavily discharged battery is indeed a plausible cause for rear window heating malfunction in the Eseries. Have you checked the battery's voltage and overall condition? Also, inspect the rear defroster grid for any visible breaks or damage.
