Espace electric seat fault
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a passenger electric seat fault in a 2002 Renault Espace, where the seat won't adjust due to an error in memory. Despite solid connections and cleaned switch contacts, the issue persisted. A suggestion was made to check the battery's health, as these vehicles are sensitive to voltage fluctuations. Upon replacing the failing battery, the error was cleared, and the seat functioned correctly again.

Interesting, I hadn't considered the battery. But wouldn't a low battery affect other systems too? Everything else seems to be working fine – lights, radio, etc.

Yes, it's weird, I agree. It's like a dodgy tap; sometimes it drips constantly, sometimes just now and then. In my case, it only affected the seat, but it was enough for an error to be thrown. To be sure, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. A simple battery check will rule it out. I had to replace mine. Cost me around 290€ with installation.

Thanks for the advice! I checked the battery, and you were spot on – it was on its last legs. Replaced it, cleared the error, and the seat's working perfectly again. Really appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my Espace. For me, it was a heavily discharged battery causing electrical gremlins. These Espaces are sensitive to voltage. Have you checked your battery's health lately?
