Espace Emission Control Warning Light

Alright, Renault Espace IV owners (2012, Diesel), I've got a head-scratcher. My Espace, with 239678 km on the clock, is throwing a warning light related to emission control. Getting smoke when accelerating, and it seems like the DPF regeneration isn't kicking in. I suspect it's the exhaust back pressure sensor acting up. Anyone else encountered this gremlin?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I've got an Espace too, though can't remember the year. Had similar issues with the smoke and that darn light. Was your acceleration also sluggish?

Sluggish acceleration too, yeah. Did you ever figure out what was causing it? The back pressure sensor keeps popping into my head as the culprit...

Yep, for me it was the pressure sensor! I messed around for ages trying to fix it myself, but in the end I took it to a workshop to get sorted. Good luck!

Cheers for confirming! I was leaning towards the exhaust back pressure sensor anyway. Will get a new one and replace it. Parts and labour looking at around 245€. Appreciate the help!
